Edward and Eunice received an award

For the last couple of years we have been actively involved in trying to promote interfaith discussions in Memphis between Temple Israel, Balmoral Presbyterian Church, and Masjid As-Salaam.  On March 1, 2008, we were honored at a major function of the Muslim community for this work.  The plaque was awarded at a function at the Germantown Performing Arts center, with an audience of several hundred. Present to give a brief address and help award the plaque was our representative in Congress, Steve Cohen.    (Reproduction of Plaque, text is reproduced below it).

Award given March 1, 2008

   Text:

 Muslims in Memphis,
Presented to
Edward(Chip) and Eunice Ordman

For your extraordinary exemplification of interfaith,
For your steadfast commitment  to the cause of Peace and Reconciliation,
For your Courage and Bravery in forging your good efforts forward against the grain,
Traveling the world to see for yourselves,
You set the example for others to open our minds,
You open your doors for others to stretch our hands,
In peace,
In peace may you always go.

The sixth Annual
Muslims in Memphis Month,
Germantown. TN
